- About:
- Milton Restituyo, better known as Alcover, has helped shape the Latin music landscape into
what it is today due to his refined, unmatched production skills that have won the attention of
the industry’s top artists, including Don Omar, Nacho, Gloria Trevi, Farruko, Carlos Vives,
Alexis ; Fido, and many more.
Born in La Vega, Dominican Republic, Alcover’s interest in music was sparked at an early
age thanks to his father, a singer and multi-instrumentalist. After making the decision to
move to New York, he took the first steps in commencing his musical career, enlisting his
high school classmate Juan Abreu “Xtassy” as his creative partner. Together the two formed
the award-winning production duo A;X, quickly positioning themselves as the best
producers in New York City’s urban scene.
In 2009, A;X signed with Orfanato Music Group where, under the direction and leadership of
Don Omar, they played a key role in the development and transformation of reggaeton, Latin
hip-hop, bachata, pop, and other genres, and contributed to the creation of Omar’s
international sensation “Danza Kuduro.” Their work on Omar’s hit “Taboo” led to their
recognition as “Producers of the Year” by Billboard Latin in 2012, and that same year, they
received multiple Latin GRAMMY nominations, while Alcover won his first Latin GRAMMY for
his work on the album “Meet the Orphans 2” and multiple BMI awards for “Taboo” (“Fast and
Furious 5”), “Feeling Hot,” “Pura Vida,” and “Dutty Love.”
In 2016, Alcover and Xtassy released “The Rise,” the first album featuring urban artists to be
signed by Universal Music Group. The project saw Alcover’s first foray into his career as a
singer, lending his vocal talent to the tracks “Besa Tan Rico” and “Solo Tú Sabes,” a
collaboration with the group 24 Horas. Within its first week of release, “The Rise” hit #1 on
iTunes’ Urban chart, #3 on iTunes’ general chart, and was one of the top 10 best-selling
albums according to Billboard.
Pausing his work with A;X, Alcover continues to pursue producing independently in addition
to cultivating his career as a solo artist. Incorporating urban music with the vibrant, irresistible
flavor of his Caribbean roots, he has already begun building a blossoming fan base with
singles such as “No te dejare caer” and “Te Reto,” which received play on radio in countries
around the world including Israel, Spain, Canada, the United States, Bolivia, and Peru. In
December 2018 he was part of the line up of MegaBash in the Madison Square Garden in
New York City alongside Don Omar, Farruko and many other Latin stars, later in 2019, he
was invited to participate in Calibash alongside Latin trap newcomers Vice Menta and
reggaeton pioneers Wisin y Yandel. Most recently, he co-wrote and co-produced Tito El
Bambino’s “La Vida es una Sola” along with Richy Peña and Nacho and co-wrote and
produced “Grande” for Gloria Trevi featuring Monica Naranjo. In addition to his multiple Gold
and Platinum certifications, the artist
