Fast forward to today, he is breathing new life into the very track that inspired his own career. Using never-before-heard sounds from Keïta’s original session stems, Jonas seamlessly weaves his signature sound into the robust cultural fabric of the track.
From Jonas Blue: “When I was 12 years old, I discovered Madan by Salif Keïta remixed by Martin Solveig in a London record shop – and it’s stayed with me ever since. It became part of the soundtrack to my life, influencing my sets and productions ever since. When I was invited to create a new version, it meant so much to me that it initially felt untouchable. But once I received the original session stems, everything changed. There were beautiful, unheard parts from Salif and his band that never made it into the remix the world knows. It felt like uncovering a hidden treasure.”
